Winter Concert Details 2019
Each student in the middle school will participate in the concert on Wednesday, December 11. This is a
mandatory, graded performance, and all absences will require a make-up assignment. Details are below:
Band Concert
? Wednesday, December 11 at 5:30pm
? Report time: 4:45pm to music suite, enter through exit 10
Choir Concert
? Wednesday, December 11 at 7pm
? Report time: 6:30pm to music suite, enter through exit 10
? Boys - black dress pants, white dress shirt or polo, tie optional.
? Girls - similar as boys, or white and/or black dress or skirt.
? All outfits must conform to the school dress code. If you have any questions about a specific
outfit, send a picture or wear it to school to figure out if it will work in advance.
? Excused - grade will not be reduced, as long as the make-up assignment is completed
? Previously planned events that cannot be rescheduled
? Emergencies (sick, family members in hospital, etc.)
? For an absence that is not an emergency to be excused, email me ASAP to request an
excused absence. This does not guarantee that it will be excused.
? Unexcused - grade will be reduced, usually 50% possible, make-up assignment required
? No-show/forgot
? Don’t have a ride (if you might not have a ride, try to arrange one in advance - all other
students are coming as well!)
? Other absences that have not been cleared with Mr. Amerson
? Athletics
? This concert is on the district calendar so there should be no major conflicts.
? This concert takes precedence over practices for school sports.
? It is the students’ responsibility to inform their coach if they need to miss practice for the
Parent Helpers
? With how many students will be here and how excitable they can get, some help is needed to
keep them all under control and everything operating smoothly.
? Parent helpers are needed to assist from report time, leading up until the beginning of the
concert, and then some in between each ensemble’s performance (when one group leaves the
stage and another enters, for example)
? All parent helpers will be able to watch their child’s entire performance!!
