Buddy Bench installed at Elementary Playground

On Friday, April 11, Crestview Elementary students celebrated Friendship Day.  They celebrated by playing friendship games, making new friends and learning about being a good friend.  Also, a Buddy Bench was installed at the school playground.  Students from Art classes will decorate the bench in the near future.  The Buddy Bench is a place that students can sit when they feel lonely at recess.  Other students will then ask those lonely students if they would like to play with them.  In this way, new friendships will be gained and bullying incidents will be prevented.

Blizzard Bag Information

   Blizzard Bags

As you know, this has been an unusual winter regarding the weather and the number of calamity days that we have used.  Recently, the Ohio legislature passed into law a provision dealing with making up calamity days.  The law, referred to as “Online Learning/Blizzard Bag,” specified that schools can utilize this educational format for up to 3 days beyond the standard five calamity days.  Your child’s classroom teacher is developing “Blizzard Bags” with work for your child to complete for 3 calamity days.  Our teachers are posting the work on their website labeled “Blizzard Bags - Day 1, Day 2, Day 3.”  Parents and students can access the work for their class online at www.crestviewrebels.org.  Paper copies for each blizzard bag are available for families who don’t have internet access. Each day’s Blizzard Bag needs to be completed within two weeks from the time that the teacher assigns the work.  All work from Blizzard Bags will count toward the 3rd nine week grading period.  Parents with questions may call the school at 330-482-5370.
