Crestview Athlete Tests positive for Covid-19

Columbiana, OH – (Crestview Local Schools) This afternoon, the Crestview Local Schools were notified that a Crestview HS Football  player  has tested positive for COVID-19. The school has worked with the Columbiana County Health Department this afternoon on contact tracing and instituted  protocols for the positive test. Part of that protocol includes determining close contacts. Close contact is defined as 15 minutes or more in a close confined environment.   We have three football players  that met this definition and those players will be quarantined 14 days from their last contact with the positive player... The player last attended practice on August 6, 2020. On August 7, 2020 the player called the coach to let him know that he was ill. All families of players in close contact  with this athlete will be notified by the coaches and their names and information have been forwarded to the Columbiana County Health Department. The Columbiana County  Health Department indicated that because of the immediate action and decisive action by our coaches, that football practices would be  allowed to continue. However,in order to communicate with families, the school and  football coaches will temporarily suspend all HS football practices only until Monday August 17, 2020. All other sport programs and extracurriculars will continue as normal.

Dear Crestview Community:

I have had the honor to work with all the schools in Columbiana County, the ESC, and the Health Department. We are all navigating a road we have never been on. The Crestview Rebels are  grateful to have worked with many on this common agreement. This agreement is a starting point and it may be a guide for you as you try to decide on in person classes or remote learning.
