Remote Learning Friday's at CES

Dear community,

I wanted to provide some clarification for our elementary parents as we move towards continuing remote learning on Friday’s. Remote learning means that students will be still learning, in a different location. As a result of a national backorder on Chromebooks, computers have been handed out first to our students in grades 3 and 4, which will allow the older students to access their learning online. As we work through outfitting the entire building with computers, we will make a decision on whether to have K-2 students carry their computers home for the weekend. Currently, teacher’s in grades K-2 have been given the directive to provide instructional learning packets (no computers) for their students to lessen the stress for parents/guardians. These packets will be handed out on Thursday evening and expected to be returned upon arrival on Monday. Returning the completed packet will count as being present for attendance purposes. Please know teachers will still be available via Google Meet, e-mail, phone calls, etc. throughout the instructional day.

Additionally, with the decision to move to remote Friday’s, picture day has been rescheduled for Tuesday, October 13th and retakes along with our online students will be on Wednesday, Nov 18th.

Your partner in learning,

Mr. Timothy Pancake

Bring your own Device

We have had many requests for students to bring their own devices to school to use for classwork.  We do have school-issued devices available for your child, but if he/she would like to bring their own device daily, they may do so by completing the following:

  1. Go to the following link and install the appropriate Securely certificate for your device

http://www.crestviewrebels.org/Content2/116

  1. Sign and return this form to the Crestview Middle School office

  2. If you have any questions or issues, please submit a help ticket by going to Crestviewrebels.org and clicking the “Students” drop down at the top, then click “Student Help Desk”

With the completed form in hand and the filter installed, students may bring their own devices beginning Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

Remote Learner Information

Please view the presentation below if your child will be a remote learner for the Fall of 2020.  There is a Google Form at the end of the slideshow for parents to complete to indicate that you have read all of the requirements and expectations for our remote learners.  If you have any additional questions that are not addressed in the presentation, please contact the building principal where your child is enrolled. Thank you all for your help and cooperation through these unprecedented times.
